Experienced and well established 2008 sees us celebrate 11 years of operation and innovation in the Scottish tour industry. Over this period we have been the first to establish tours to the Isles of Harris, Lewis and the Orkney Isles as well as developing fantastic tours throughout the mainland Highlands and the Isle of Skye. 2 Day Loch Ness & Highlands
This fantastic tour takes in the ‘must see’ sights of the Highlands such as Loch Ness and Glen Coe with one night spent in a cozy hostel surrounded by the famed rugged mountains of the Highlands.
3 Day Skye & Highlands The ideal tour for those who have limited time to spend in Scotland. It takes in the history of Wallace and Bruce, the rugged mountains of Glencoe, the stories of the Isle of Skye, the murky waters of Loch Ness and the windswept battlefield of Culloden.
4 Day Skye & Highlands This follows a similar route to the 3 Day tour except you get so much more time to get out into the countryside and explore it’s beauty, to take a boat trip on the west coast sea lochs, and see the white sandy beaches of Morar. If you have the extra day, it’s time well spent! In winter this tour spends the first night in Oban.
5 Day Orkney Tour The shortest tour on offer from Edinburgh up to the far north coast and over the Pentland Firth to the Orkney Isles. Taking in the fishing town of Ullapool, the remote and dramatic mountains of Sutherland, breathtaking beaches, the Neolithic heritage of Orkney and a night staying in a castle, it’s not one to miss!
6 Day Monster Castle Tour Staying in the Stationmaster’s House with roaring fires and 15th century Plane Castle with secret passageways and four-poster beds it’s a true winter warmer! We take in the jewels of the West Coast including the Isle of Skye as well as having time to enjoy the scenic areas surrounding Stirling and St Andrews.
6 Day Skye & Hebridean Explorer If you want to get away from it all, this is the perfect choice. After discovering William Wallace, Glencoe, Eilean Donan Castle and the Isle of Skye, we take the ferry over to Harris and Lewis. Staying in traditional blackhouses, exploring Calanais Standing Stones and taking walks over the cliffs to unspoilt beaches, the Outer Hebrides are hard to leave. The last night is spent on the banks of Loch Ness before returning to Edinburgh.
9 Day Island Hopper The ultimate Scotland tour allowing plenty of time to explore and appreciate the diverse array of landscapes, history, folklore and culture that Scotland has to offer. Visiting the Isle of Skye, Orkney Islands, Lewis and Harris as well as Loch Ness, Glencoe and the Wallace Monument, it really is the most comprehensive tour you’ll find.
Festive Specials We always have a number of great special tours lined up for Christmas, Hogmanay, Easter and other holidays. We will get details to you in advance.
Why to come with us: Small groups Wild in Scotland are the only backpacker tour company in Scotland running small, friendly groups with a maximum group size of 16. We firmly believe that this allows for a much more flexible and personal approach, allowing the clients to get much more from their guide as well as allowing the group to really get to know one another.
Fantastic routes Over the past 10 years we have constantly fine tuned our tours as well as developing new routes. You can be sure that each of our tours will visit the all the highlights that Scotland is justifiably famous for as well as many hidden gems off the beaten track that visitors would be unlikely to experience on their own. Whichever tour is chosen, we guarantee an unforgettable time.
Unbeatable Value Our tours are always competitively priced, particularly when you consider the higher level of service that our passengers receive. The kitty system is where the difference really counts though. It’s a one off payment that’s taken at the start of the tour (in cash), that is used to pay for all breakfasts, evening meals, and accommodation on all tours. It also pays for entry fees and ferry transfers where applicable. This means that all savings on group bookings and entries are passed on to the passenger as well as saving loads of time, money and hassle.
Flexible, relaxed approach Our tours are never run to a rigid itinerary. No two groups are the same so why should every tour be? We have faith in our guide’s expertise to allow them the freedom to tailor each tour to the interests of the group and to also adapt to the conditions and any special events that may come up. It’s another advantage of running smaller groups!
Passionate and experienced guides All of our guides are passionate Scots – born and bred – and to show our guests their stunning homeland is not simply their passion, it’s their mission in life! Fantastic storytellers and big, big characters we train all of our guides to the highest standards. Nothing less will bring the rich history, culture and folklore of the Highlands to life!
Loads of time off the bus Our tours are designed to get people out into the countryside to really experience the breathtaking scenery first hand, not through the windows of a speeding bus. Our small groups and flexible approach make sure that our guests see the very best of Scotland. Our focus is not on crowded tourist traps and souvenir shops but on the majestic landscape and hidden spots that really make the Highlands stand out.
Local contacts Over the years our respectful approach has been recognised and appreciated by the communities that we visit and this has opened many doors to us. Whether it’s a boat trip with a working local fisherman or being welcomed into the homes of islanders to see them weave Harris Tweed by hand we can offer experiences that are simply not available to independent travellers and other tours.
Helpful pick ups Although all of our tours check in at our office we are more than happy to pick people up at Edinburgh airport or even in Stirling by prior arrangement.
Incredible accommodation This is another area where our tours really stand out. We are flexible and do try and accommodate any requests for double or twin rooms. If it is available, we will happily book it. Just ask at the time of booking.
